The next Business Committee meeting will be held on Monday May 7, at 6 p.m. at HACC IES MIDTOWN 1 on the 2nd Floor. Anyone interested in attending may do so. If you can not attend you may email membership@friendsofmidtown.org for more information.

Join FOM members on Saturday, May 5 at 9:30am for a casual ride around the Capital Area Greenbelt. Meet at the south end of the Sunken Gardens along the river on Front St. (Front & Cumberland Sts.). The ride typically takes approximately 3 hours so bring plenty of water and a snack. See www.caga.org to check out the trail. In the event of rain the ride will be rescheduled. The next beautification meeting will be held on Wednesday May 2, at 6:15 p.m. at the Midtown Scholar.  Anyone interested in improving the appearance of the Midtown neighborhood can attend. If you can not attend you may email beautification@friendsofmidtown.org for more information.

The next Safety Committee Meeting will be held on Monday April 30 at 6:30 at HMAC-Stage on Herr (268 Herr Street). Anyone interested in helping make Midtown a safer place to live or work is invited to attend. If you would like additional information about the safety committee / foot patrol or if you would like to join please email safety@friendsofmidtown.org.

This month’s Beautification Committee meeting will be held this Wednesday April 4 at The Midtown Scholar at 6:15 p.m. Come join our Beautification Committee co-chairs, as they discuss this year’s events to help our community look even better than ever. FOM Beautification Committee will supply water, gloves, trash-bags, and will provide refreshments afterwards. Rain Date will be April 28, if needed.

On 1/18, Friends of Midtown will be hosting David Patton, Deputy Director of Codes and Ernie Hoch, Public Works Director, at a public forum at the Heinz-Menaker Senior Center. City residents will have the opportunity to ask questions related to city codes and public work projects, and Mr. Patton and Mr. Hoch will share ways the community can help address city issues. The forum will be from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Heinz-Menaker Senior Center, located at 1824 N. 4th St.

UPDATE: On 1/12 Mr. Patton informed us he will be unable to attend due to other city committments. We have inquired about the availability of an alternate regarding codes issues.
