Community Garden
More Than a Garden
The Midtown Community Garden is a shared space where neighbors can grow vegetables, flowers, and herbs while helping make Midtown greener.
The garden, located at N. 4th Street & Peffer Street, was established in 2024. Friends of Midtown began operating and maintaining the garden in 2026 to ensure it continues to thrive for the community.

The garden is part of a Capital Region Water green stormwater project that helps capture rainwater before it reaches the sewer system. The site was designed to improve water quality while creating a beautiful community space for Midtown residents to enjoy.

The Harrisburg Community Gardens are a cooperative effort involving the Harrisburg Redevelopment Authority, Capitol Region Water, and Chesapeake Bay Trust.
